Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 (10 oz) packages frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 (16 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
Brown the ground beef and chopped onion together in a skillet over medium heat, breaking the meat into small pieces as it cooks. Drain off any excess fat before continuing.
Transfer the cooked beef and onion to a slow cooker.
Place the frozen mixed vegetables in a colander and rinse briefly with hot water to separate any clumped pieces, then add them to the slow cooker.
Add the can of diced tomatoes (undrained), the tomato sauce, and 1/2 cup of water to the meat and vegetables. Stir in the chili powder, salt, and sugar until everything is evenly combined.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on the low setting for 8 to 10 hours, until the flavors are melded and the vegetables are tender. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt or chili powder if desired.
